In 2022, after COVID, and the high street shop closures that followed, Russ decided to open an old-school shop with a physical premises to offer good things (primarily books) at good prices, and have a chat with people who like books and ephemera. It’s a small shop in Eton High Street, Windsor and houses around 3,500 books which cover puffin paperbacks at £2 to antiquarian tomes at over £2,000.

Why Mainly Books? Primarily, because Russ is an accountant who can cook the books as well as sell books on cooking! Additionally, because we sell various antiquarian items such as old documents, maps, prints, and Victorian scraps, as well as books.

We buy books from auctions and houses nationwide, and locally, but they have to fit into two categories: books we like and books we think will sell well. We hope to hit both categories, but one will do!
This website is primarily to showcase some of the books and other items that we are pleased to have found, and are proud to be selling. Although we consider most of our stock to be quite special, we will only be listing a select few online so you can get a taste of what we sell.

If you are interested in any of our books, we would prefer you to come to the store and meet the physical item before you buy. However, we will facilitate a purchase by telephone or bank transfer as we understand that not everyone is able to make a visit, and some people will want to purchase before someone else beats them to it.
